OK, as a public service I scrolled through this thread and put all the spellings in alphabetical order (feel free to correct - it's been a long time since third grade).

It's not as many as I would have thought. I only counted ones that claimed to be real, not jokes. I did not check the links because I figured a lot of them would be dead. So if you need to program your Craigslist bot, here is the list:

Chhwinn
Scchwinn
Scheinn
Scheruiwn
Schinn
Schinng
Schwain
Schwann
Schweinn
Schwenn
Schwiin
Schwimmer
Schwin
Schwing
Schwynn
Science
Sewing
Sewn
Shewinn
Shwin
Shwinn
Shwynn
Swim
Swing
Swinton
Sycwnn

If it's a Wal-Mart Schwinn, is it Schwit?

Imagine how many there might be out there that we haven't found, and consider that it would be damned hard to do a search for them.

Looks to me like autocorrect (e.g. science or swim) is the dominant failure mode, followed by phailed fonics (e.g. shwin) and hitting an adjacent key (e.g. scheinn).

Here's a two-fer - Schwimm and Schwann in the same ad.

Sadly, no pictures, but rest assured it's purple.

The overly verbose description isn’t helping.

“Description”

“Bike”

There's a "Branching Milano" that's been getting renewed/reposted on the Madison CL for 1-2 years now; properly spelled "Bianchi" in the ad body, but they've never fixed the title.

BTW, here's a new one (from an old listing, actually): https://shopgoodwill.com/item/153133250

Schowell Vintage Bike seat

But wait... it's not....

But then, they managed to misspell Showell, perhaps under some Schwinn schpel.... er... spell, so... maybe it is....

(Don't worry, there's not gonna be a quiz later)

Can't blame auto correct for this one, have to respect two spellings in same ad! Both bikes have named available.....
