For Canadians who need a cotter press.
I can't recommend the hammer removal method as if you bend the cotter itself, the replacements aren't good quality. If you have access to a bench press, use the socket over the cotter method as it's likely to damage the cotter.
Back in the good old days people could learn to correctly hammer them out by practice but then quality cotters were cheap and readily available.
There is a thread for US people who want to borrow a cotter press. I have one. I would ask that if you borrow mine, you return it to me as I like old tools. It should still be cheaper than buying one. Logically, to save on shipping costs, I would ask locally if you have a co-op or an old school store/mechanic who can help you but those these are getting fewer and fewer on the ground......
If interested, PM me.

Small pretty Allez $550CAD. And it's red, which is the fastest color around, right? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1239693867241/
I think I'd fit on this bike, and it's light, but it doesn't have fender mounts and I don't think I'll survive the 25mm tires. Isn't that a pretty color though?

This seller has had these two bikes up for months and price has steadily dropped. If I had room, which I do not, I'd offer $50 for the Glider which is actually in really nice shape. I say that 2nd bike is just not worth anything and if turned down I'd walk away. I just like the cranks, cottered though they be and assuming the Brooks isn't rotted or flaked away they are always useful. In St Catharines, Ont

Listed yesterday in Hamilton
Not sure if price isn't high. I see a lot of work and I see rust. It's clearly sat awhile.
If I was interested, I'd email and say I see you want $500 but it needs a complete rebuild. If you sell, congrats ion the sale but I'm offering $XX and if you can't sell at $500 call me.
PS>Seller has a B17 for $75 Canadian which isn't too bad

LOL, you guys are funny. Anyways, I actually picked this thing up after a hair raising drive up-island in a sleet storm (the stupid stuff I do for bikes), but it is my size and is rust free. Parts are mostly replacement, so will have to do some serious swapping-out, but the frame and fork are very straight and original. I'll get some photos up once I get organised. And Garry is a like-minded bike nut, so a great day out.

WGB That Pinarello looks OK and I think he would have got that price 2 years ago. With campy groupset maybe, but a bit high for my liking. Did you see this add not far from you? This is very tempting as I've always wanted a celeste green Bianchi. Check out his other listings. Good stuff if you are a tall guy.
Bike prices have finally gone back to pre-covid prices. Unfortunately, I don't have space for another bike.

Nothing beats a harrowing, cannonball, man on a mission (insert silly reason) run.
