I posted this before but seller seems really, really hungry for a sale.

Price drop over about 6 weeks from $950, now at $600

I would want some proof that it was made by Mike Barry (didn't know he actually made the frames, thought he ran the business side - but, what do I know) as that's where the value would be on a flip

What a shame, those bikes were all decent bikes at one time but suffered some neglect. The Velo Sport looks like it wasn't left out in the rain as long as the others.

Here's a better deal on a Raleigh in Kitchener. It's a Super Course and it has been listed on and off again for more than a year so perhaps that $300 asking price could be negotiated down...

I like the gold paint and those centre pull brakes are a nice bonus...

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details...dId=1656793390

And this Fuji tourer is mighty tempting....my size and fairly priced at $275. I bet there's some wiggle room on the pricee since it's been listed for awhile now....

This bike was hand-built for me in 1982 by Canadian Bicycle Specialists in Maple Ridge, B.C. (closed down in the '90's). It's taken me on many long and beautiful rides, including across China in 1983. It's been lightly ridden since the mid-90's (new bikes, children, etc.) but it has been hard to let it go. I am finally ready to hand it off to someone new who will appreciate riding a classic steel frame beauty. EXCELLENT RIDING CONDITION Frame & Fork: Reyonolds 531 double-butted Frame Size: 60 cm (fits a 6'1" to 6'3" rider) Wheels: Campagnola hubs, 700c Super Champion Gentleman clincher rims, Stainless DT 14g spokes Tires: (almost new) Front - Armadillo All Condition 700x25c Rear - Schwalbe Marathon 700x25c Crankset: Sugino At Triple - 36-46-50 Freewheel: Shimano MFTZ20 6-speed 14-16-18-21-24-28 + identical spare freewheel Front Derailleur: Suntour Superbe Rear Derailleur: Shimano Sora Shifters: Campagnola downtube shifters Brakes: Suntour Superbe caliper Handlebars: 42 cm aluminum - new tape Saddle: Cinelli Pedals: All City flats Blackburn Rear rack Braze-ons for front & rear racks, fenders and seat-tube pump Frame was repainted in late 90's by Beek's Custom Refinishing, Toronto

Nice to see another CBS\Tony Hoar. I have one and they are really nice. The co-founder of the company lives not far from me, she's told me some interesting tales about the company.

Not to mention that the Blue Laser saddle had hardly seen any action and most likely got torn by being wet, and still worths almost twice the asking price for the lot.

Says Lovell, which might be the link between Marinoni and Cyclops, unless there are other Lovells out there
$50

This is in my neighborhood but it's too tall for me. I can just hear the derailleur going "aaaaarrrggghhhhh!!!!"

@rgvg - Be careful! That "Lovell" is a tribute bike, not one made by him. It's a Velosport Lovell.

To be fair, after Lovell had his accident (he was struck by a dump truck), Velosport sold a bunch of Velosport bikes bearing Lovell to get money to help support Jocelyn so kudos to them.
At the time, buyers knew what they were buying. The curse of tribute bikes is that they get sold on as real.

I suspect in this specific case that the seller knows what it is and is an honest seller and wants to be fair, which explains why it's just called a "road bike" in the ad.

Didn't Velosport make the majority of the CDN bikes not sold from a box store? I thought they had the contracts for most of the European bikes sold in the CDN market like Peugeot, Motobecane, etc...I know my Peugeto UO 14 was a Velosport bike and decent components and frame.

Regardless, $50 for a Velosport bike is a great deal.
