Looks a bit like my favourite LBS: just a couple of blocks away and located next to a craft brewery......

I'd imagine Randy Jawas' place might look like that too?

I've been to BACKPEDDLING a number of times. I learned to take a head mounted flashlight if I'm going to root through the blue bins for parts. It's kind of dim where many of those are.

I saw some bicycles there that are from the 1800's or early 1900's. It's a fantastic place to browse.

Cheers

Miele Man One of my favorite things to do (at least pre-covid) is rooting around in those bins.... While this didn't happen with a bicycle it did with a motorcycle: you find one unique part and you start the chase until you have a fully functional unit, based on that one part!

That looks to be an 84. I don't think it's a 3rensho but still nice.
It would be bluer if it were earlier.

Katasura Silk track bike

Beautiful and rare bike for sale on Kijiji in Ontario (not mine):

Quoted:

"The Silk bicycle company had become quite famous after having produced all the bikes for the Japanese Olympic racing teams in 1964. The name "SILK" was derived from the former silk manufacturing factory building which the bicycle manufacturing company later occupied. Their racing style bikes were highly regarded by Keirin racers and were produced right along with the custom French touring style bikes. This particular bike was made in the late 1970’s- early 1980s and was raced in Japan before making its way to Canada. It is fillet brazed and has a lovely patina to the emerald green paint. The chrome is still brilliant, and the bi-plane fork crown really sets this one apart! It is fitted with pre NJS, BIA components. Has a classy Nitto steel stem holding bull horn bars, and has upgraded Mavic clincher rims with Sunshine BIA hubs. The SR Royal Pista crank set is truly a work of art, and it has NJS MKS pedals.Has a small 51cm frame, (50cm Seat Tube, 52cm Top Tube) good for a rider who is 5.2- 5.6ft tall. Weighs in at only 19 lbs. Has 700c clincher wheels.

The bike is in good shape, but it has several paint chips and scrapes as it has been raced it’s whole life. It has 2 Japanese racing event stickers to prove it. The Patina is wonderful and it shows / displays very nicely with the lovely chrome and the emerald green paint.

Has a 44x16 tooth gear ratio."

I contacted the seller about another matter, he indicated some price flexibility. If he won't ship I can facilitate. Can$ are smaller than US$.

Has anyone heard of New Hudson bikes before? Tri-velox derailleur? 1930's. Looks cool.

I can't share the Kijiji ad because I don't have 10 posts. But you can find it in Truro, NS. for $650.

Does anyone have a Dynamo hub system on any of their bikes? I might as well see if anyone on this site might want this because apparently the FB community is not interested. Never used, bought it from an online European vendor and never expected it wasn't batteries Free to a good home.

Has anyone ever heard of this Raleigh bike before? any thoughts on it? Looks like it has a triple crank with an 8 speed freewheel/cassette? sure would make a good foundation for a gravel conversion.

90's MTN bike

Not that model but I have an 80's Miele Tange 5 road bike given to me last year, I did a flat bar conversion and put 32mm tires on it. Tange 5 is pretty heavy, bike is probably 28lbs.

Just built one last year for my daughter...it handles just fine, I'm glad I bought it (for $75). It's a seven cassette and I think it's 130...have to check. It has cool Weinmann concave rims and yes, prolly ~25 ilbs
