I have a Brooks B15 Narrow, and when I bought it, it was a bit dry, and the lace-hole rows at the bottoms of the skirts were cracked, all of them, right down the middle, laterally, so I tore them off. (Maybe precipitously). Then, I filed the saw-tooth edge.
The saddle is now re-conditioned, and I am hoping to bevel the skirt bottoms, as in the photo, below, of the Professional. I have a 6mm beveler tool on the way, but I was wondering if anyone could lend me a tip or two on the best way to use it.
In hind-sight, the reconditioning may have allowed me to keep the lace-holes, but now I am looking for a nice, smooth edge.

RHM should have the tell.
in leatherwork there is a draw knife
similar to some woodworking draw knives.
the trick of course is a sharp and quality edge
you notice that the factory done saddles show one clean draw.

I bet it was done before the saddle leather was attached to the frame- I could see attached to the nose piece for holding steady

Repechage, I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks has a tool that clamps on to the skirt bottom, and the worker just pulls it across.

Thanks. I noticed that he leant into it, rather than pushing with his forearm. This will help a lot.
