Do you mind sharing what bar tape you used? I love the effect produced by the contrasting edges.
The bar tape is "Lizard Skinz"

Beautiful job, Greg at Cyclomondo, is great to deal with, highly recommended, and this is one location for simplex/Huret brake cables,

but you may have to write, as his sight says no shipping from Canada to US, so here’s another,

Filing cable ends is cheap and easy - do this. If you make a mistake, go buy another $2 shift cable at your LBS. I have done this for every pair of Retrofrictions I own without issue.

Drilling out the world’s best friction shifters that are no longer made will ruin their value and, if a mistake is made, completely ruin the shifter. I know you didn’t recommend it first, but I saw it mentioned a couple times in the thread and thought it worth mentioning. Not worth the risk IMHO.

OP - nice job on a beautiful build!
