I was at the Kubota/Bearcat dealer yesterday getting a part for my chipper/shredder and noticed Kubota has their own brand of rattle can paint. I bet it is pretty heavy duty. OP wants gloss black and they had that. BUT, that orange!!!

p.s. For lawn furniture and bicycles, I'm a Rustoleum brush-on and wait 7 warm days between coats fan.

i saw that online! i ended up ordering some Rust-Oleum farm implement allis chalmers orange and a can of Rust-Oleum 7579838 Professional High Performance Enamel Spray Paint. here i go again...

I completely failed every time i tried to da a bike frame with rattlecans. Always dimpling, orange peel, lots of runs, always way too thick. even when using expensive, high quality mixed-to-order car paint cans. It is just sooo much nicer with a spraygun...

My last paint job I used the Spray Max epoxy paints primer, and black, and used my spray gun with PPG auto paint for the red and yellow.

My 1985 Mt Fuji paint was in horrible condition, and was set to be acid dipped-powder coated, but the decals were in pretty good shape, so I masked them, prepped the frame and shot with rattle-Krylon. Turned out pretty well and has been durable enough for a road bike ("e-equipped), but matte, so not exactly what you want.

Just my 2 cents. Rustoleum automotive black followed by automotive clear can give a beutiful finish if you are careful with prep and avoid runs. Very important is to apply per directions 70 -90 degree weather and dry Indoors at 70-90 deg. not following these directions can result in the paint drying on the surface but not underneath which will lead to chipping. Also it is important to follow the spray instructions. Spray second coat within 1/2 hr. or wait 48 hrs. not doing this can cause second coat to alligator the finish.
