Help identifying childhood bike from the 70s

I guess I can't post a photo until I've made more posts. hang on. I'm looking for any help or information on how to identify this bike from my childhood. Any possible leads on where to look or research are greatly appreciated. I would love to see if I could find/restore the same model. Thanks, Dave

I only have the 1 bad photo of it in a parade and I have never put eyes on a bike like this one since. I'm the kid in the football uniform on yellow bike. Here are the details as I remember.
1. it had dual rectangular tubes. Maybe the top tubes were small round bar but the lowers where larger rectangles maybe 2" high by 1/4" thick.
2. It had a banana style seat that was very square. The seat had a mini riser at the back that you could scoot back and ride higher on. Almost like a 2 seat motorcycle seat.
3. The rear tire was wider than most and almost like a racing slick
4. you can see it was yellow with black accents
5. big white lettering on tires.
6. I believe my parents bought it at a local Coast-to-Coast in Dakota City, NE. I do not believe it was a Schwinn as my parents wouldn't buy name brand. My brother later got a Huffy and I did not think we had the same brand bike.
7. I would guess manufacturing date was 1970-1972

I don't see a photo as of yet, but it kinda sounds like a Murray Eliminator, maybe. They were on par with Huffy

If it was purchased at Coast to Coast, it was probably branded Coast King. Most of them were rebranded Huffy's.

Maybe a Coast King. That was the Coast to Coast brand.

Awesome! The Apollo Racer was my first bike in the early 70's. Mine was a dark purple. I remember the dual top tubes that are not parallel. Had no idea what the bike was til I came across this thread. My grandpa got it for me but it was not new. Brings back memories - wow!

Apollo Racer was a knock off of a Raleigh Chopper but both front and rear were “20””
actually I think mimicked Schwinn
and 20x2.125 rear and 20x1 3/4” front… slightly larger ERD.

My dad bought me one of those in the late ‘60’s. Same color and everything. The raised-letter whitewalls put it over the top! I wonder how many miles I put on that bike? I know I wore out a half a dozen or so banana seats. Handed it down to a younger cousin when I outgrew it. That thing was pretty much indestructible…
