Some nice rides going out the doors in this thread, and I fully commiserate. In 2020 I moved a total of 9, clearing up much-needed room. This year only two: The DL-1 was a flip, but I really hated to see the GS go - a great bike but just not ridden as often as it should have been. On a upbeat note the guy I sold it to was very happy as he had the exact same model when he was young, drove a couple hundred miles to get it. But the net loss was offset by N+2! Late in the year I also acquired 2 high end models, so my resolution is now to see at least 6 more of the collection go to future homes next year. That would leave me with a baker's dozen, good enough until the itch inevitably makes its appearance again.

Exactly! If people hadn't been cool enough to sell me my old bikes, well, I wouldn't have them, would I?

Buy, sell - it's all good

No bikes sold, just a couple of framesets.
This beautifully resprayed SLX Bianchi purchased from Spaghetti Legs several years ago (when it was a light-colored Celeste not to my liking)

Which had to go in order to make room for my 70th birthday present, a custom painted Pegoretti Duende:

Also moved along this pretty much perfect TSX Eddy Merckx 'Team 7-Eleven'. Even though I picked it up with the best of intentions, ultimately decided that one Merckx in the stable was sufficient.

Purge baby!!

Sold a few nice ones, but the REAL purge came from donating my collection of some 20 vintage 70s & 80s touring and mountain bikes. What a feeling.

I'm curious, what did the 930 sell for in IL? Here in San Diego, I think $140-170 would be the sell price.
I sold a green 930 for $275 in Seattle but it was converted to Deore 3x9 group.

I sold both of these last year to forum members: the Allez was bought new as a replacement for a nice Raleigh that was a gift from my wife that I drove into a garage on the top of my car , and the Ciocc was my first foray int the C&V world, and was a nostalgia trip back to my first Italian bike. The Ciocc was also my 2019 Eroica CA ride on the Heroic route.

1993 Specialized Allez, All Campy with triple and upgraded brifters.

And late to mid 80's Ciocc frame that I bought as a complete bike.

Just sold this one too! now I may need to add a new bike to the fold, maybe some sort of apex bike! I will have to think on it, and start looking!

Got this back from my son, refurbished it and now it's time to move it on.
Well this one didn't quite make it out the door last year but it only missed it by a few days. Just sold it and dang it, there goes my winter bike.

Took it out Sunday for a little over an hour while it was 14 degrees.

First proper ice mustache of the year, LOL!

That is such a good looking paint scheme.

A couple of bikes left to make room for better fitting bikes, and also to allow me to focus on stalled projects to finally get them on the road. I tinkered with the Univega, but it was too big, so I sold it as a complete and overhauled original spec bike. The Campania was a fun canvas for a couple of years, but I finally accepted that the reach was too much, so it went out as a frameset. The Peugeot — well, it sort of bounced in and out of my garage and was only in my possession for a week or so before I realized I would never touch it, so I donated it back to the co-op from whence it came so they could make a few extra bucks on its resale. I’m happy with the stable I have now and want to spend more time with them, so I won’t miss these now that they’re gone.

Sold a way-too-large for me Ciocc Designer ‘84 frameset to a fellow BF-er.

Still not sure what I was thinking when I bought it.

Well, it was a very purty frame (look at all that chrome!), but yeah - too big is too big
