74' Motobecane Grand Jubilee
I've had this stored in the back of a dry shed since it was pulled out of the bushes at an estate sale. With enough projects to hold me off, I tried to move it to another worthy rider. Being a 63cm, it's just out of my comfort range and his also. Well, it's out, so I figured I should at least see what it rode like. After a clean, lube and a few parts, here it is.

And the finished product.

And the finished product.

Nice bike. Did you switch saddles for the last pic? The "as found" bike looks to have the aluminum-railed Ideale on it, which is a pretty sought-after and racy version.
I have one of these, and they sure are pretty. How did you like the ride? For some reason the ride of mine never felt as good to me as other "3 tubes 531" frames like the Raleigh Super Course. I put 700c wheels with bigger tires on mine, and I use it as sort of a "picnic randonneur" bike--- a bike for slow rides with the family. In that role it's just nice to look at....
For some reason I could never get the much ballyhooed Huret Jubilee deralleur to shift very well.... but maybe that's missing the point, which is to be light and look pretty.....

thank you,
the Sealy Posturpedic selle & pedali sound like very plausible perpetrations courtesy of the Arnie Emporio...
test rode the '74 at launch
dearly wanted to get one but fell twixt the cracks on the size regime; the LIV c-t-t was a bit small and the LVIII a bit large...
