Brake pads
Hello all,
I have a Raleigh Superbe Dawn Tourist made in 1948. I am just starting to seek parts to replace old and worn parts. Now I need brake pads ( I think in the UK they are called something else. This bike has rod brakes. Your help would be most welcome. |
I'm not a rod brake expert, but Kool Stop makes these.

Kool Stop International - High Performance Bicycle Brake Pads Since 1977 KoolStop makes excellent products, perhaps the best rim brake pads you can get. If they are available locally I highly recommend them. (I’m highly biased since the company is local to me but I doubt you’ll get disagreement from others) |
+1 on Kool Stop. If they make a pad that will fit your brake, get it and use it. In my experience, nobody makes a better brake pad and most aren't as good.

Kool Stop is a good choice, as is Fibrax Science..

Off topic: KoolStop also makes a really nice tire jack to simplify installation of tightly-fitting tires without puncturing your innertubes.
