That Campy GT is ugly to look at, but its shifting ability is uglier still. You'll probably regret putting any more time into it, though there is some benefit in proving that for yourself. Enjoy the experience....

If 30X28 and standing to climb isn't good enough,...... well, it deserves a 2 footed gear.

I've walked up any number of hills, but the most memorable one was up Alder Grove Rd. Not sure how to find out the grade, but if I'd taken a hand off to take a pic, the bike would have run back down the hill. The day I rode it, was on a warmish January day, and there was still frost and old snow on the shaded wet pavement, to go with the algae and tree bits. I rode my brakes the entire way back down, figuring I'd rather crash at 15mph than 30; luckily that didn't happen.

A few years ago, when riding in the Crete Senesi, mrs non-fixie and I took a wrong turn and got lost. Luckily Google Maps found us a route that looked good.

Beneath the bumpy sun-dried top layer the Tuscan clay was still very soggy. Hardest walk I ever did with a bike. And the only time ever I had to go back down and get mrs non-fixie's bike:

Oh, I've been there. Never thought to take pic mid stride, though. Usually I'm asking myself why I do this to myself at that point. Did that on Bald Mountain Road, Luzerne County, which I did eventually climb successfully later in that season. Still asked myself the same question, though. Suffered.

My goal has always been to mount a two-foot sprocket on my bike. But, sadly I am still a little short.
70T / 2 = 35" circumference.
35" / 3.14 = 11.14", or just barely under a foot in diameter.
Not me, but this would be SWEET.
If the cranks are about 175's, that would put the ring at about 35 cm, or about 13.8".

Take a step, drag the bike, take a step, drag the bike... Then to find out I was flooded in at the other side and had to get a boat to take me to the road. This is a flat section of a cow path during the rainy season. Surprisingly, someone had taken a 125 moto thru here earlier. My slick tires are actually small block eights. It was like walking in a jar of peanut butter.

I never did master the hill to Olea Farms on the Eroica rides when it was in Paso. The olive leaf tea and French fries are well worth the walk up the hill.

This is on top of Wallin Mtn in Greenland, AR just south of Fayetteville....home of U of A. I forget now what the elevation is in this spot, but it took a low 20 inch gear (24t to 34t) to reach it
