Back in the day, some of the junkiest bikes were made in the USA: Huffy, Murray, Columbia.
i loved my columbia 3 speed.... shimano 333 hub. even got my Bicycling merit badge on it...... I don't recall the 50 miler as hell but it really must have been.

then i got my first ok bike 10 speed Azuki....the poor columbia was dropped like a hot pan
