Is this a Concorde Squadra?
A close friend bought this bicycle for the Campagolo Daytona Groupset (which I do not believe to be original), and I was then able to buy the frameset from him.
After doing a little research, I believe it to be a Squadra model but it lacks those decals. Also, I was wondering if this frame looks to be original or professionally repainted? Not sure what model but that is a real beauty! Should make as great ride with the TSX tubing!

Based on the frames features, in conjuction with the serial number, I'd say this is likely a circa 1994-1995 model. I haven't seen any literature for these specific years but I know that there was no Squadra model in 1993 and that the TSX model was called the Aquila that year. The colour scheme looks sedate for a mid-1990s Concorde. It's likely a repaint. However, there is no doubt that it a Concorde based on the foirk crown embossing the three rider Ultima embossing on the rear dropout.

Hard to tell if it is a repaint from my screen...if it is, it is a really good one. Any different overspray in the BB or HT? In any event it looks great. Best, Ben |
I don't think this is a Squadra. Normally a Squadra would have the Cinelli spoiler bottom bracket and Cinelli lugs, with the winged C logo stamped on them. And not forgetting the Italian flag on the top tube too. Would still be a great riding frame I believe. I'll have a look later to see if I have something noted, I seem to recall there's something specific about the frame number ranges too.

It looks to be either an Aquila or a Squadra. They used a lot of different frame builders, and a variety of tubings.. Ciocc and Billato both made them, and I know there were others. It's pretty common to find an Aquila that looks nothing like another Aquila. Mine had pantographs on all the lugs, bottom bracket, fork crowns, and about everywhere you could fit one. Some of them have none. Some don't have the number plate hanger either.
Nice looking frame though. |
