I completely understand that they want to prevent fraud, so I went in wielding transparency. Your experience may differ, but I found them to be very helpful and friendly.

Sort of on topic, but I went to an estate sale today which had some tasty bikes in the photos. They were still there at 2pm! Here’s why:
These were both well ridden. Not much Campy left on the International. The Bruce Gordon is probably great, but an import. I’d consider these prices high retail. Am I wrong? I offered bids of $250 and $175 just for fun.
I’d been thinking of your DeRosa/Eisentraut story, and I chuckled when I walked up to these!

Oh crap, I just got a call that I won both bids.
I did not intend to hijack this thread, so I’ll stop now. It’s not a DeRosa and an Eisentraut, but still a lot of fun.

Well, that's what's both aggravating and fun about estate sales--not knowing the pricing ahead of time, finding when you get there that the sale managers have priced things fairly high—but then in your case winning the bid for items that went unsold at those high prices. Congrats! Even if that is one of the Taiwanese built Bruce Gordon bikes, it looks great. And the Bruce Gordon racks alone are probably worth your bid!

And the Bruce Gordon was made in Japan, so that’s even better, I guess.
