Storage options

I've acquired a few more bikes since I resto'd the cellar dweller Raleigh this past winter. Im up to 7 and one is a flip so I hope to level out at 6.
my workshop and storage space is a post and beam barn. Hanging from the ceiling is not an option since its about 25 feet up. I try to keep floor space freed up for projects and such, but I do have wall space.
Anyone have creative solutions for racking bikes up on a wall? I'm thinking of perpendicular to the wall as opposed to parallel parking.

This is how it's done in many a bike shop and how I would do it if I had higher ceilings. If you can secure a pipe or maybe a 4x4, mount hooks and hang by the saddle, or rear triangle, or whatever. To get them up and down you use an 8' 2x2 with a hook like a "J" secured to the top.

Storage options? Sell em like I have done three times so far and, guess what? I've got too many bikes again. My last clearing out a few years ago...

There was a time when, for lack of a better word, I was hoarding them. Lucky for me I got past that. These days, I try to have no more than four bikes with one more waiting for a build. I must admit that I, presently, have six, including my next project an early seventies Bianchi...

I didn't have a wall as in a wall. this worked out for me. The problem I had was height, hence the front wheel hanging from the pedal.

Stand them up. Docks made from scrap wood and dowels.

I was thinking of something similar but hanging a bit higher. Here's what i have to work with

I'd take down the shelf that the Fongers is on.

If you're going to hang them off the floor, you can stagger the hangers, higher and lower, to squeeze the bikes closer together. I wasn't concerned with space, so I just went with the gap I needed to accommodate the handlebars. There's a plethora of bike hangers for sale out there or the old fashioned, big, rubber coated hook solution.

Those big hooks can be angled to let gravity hold the bikes on the wall, they have to be very secure.

You gonna hang the OSSA on the wall too. ;)

no, the Ossa and the Benelli Sprite remain floor-bound.

I see various versions of this type of wall hook that might work. I would attach them to a 2x6 and lag it to the wall. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/...r/rp-prod10230

That looks pretty slick. Now all I need is a garage.. got 5 bikes leaning against each other in the kitchen of our 1 bed apartment..

Store them like I store my guitars - in the coat closet, in the hall closet, under the bed, behind the couch. LOL

When I worked in a Schwinn Shop ages ago, we hung them vertically by one wheel. We also took pedals off and turned bars parallel to frame to get them closer. We'd secure pedals under the seat so they wouldn't get lost. Maybe less-used bikes can be stored this way to save space?
