It's full 531 forks and stays included and the lack of eyelets seems to indicate high end but I'd like to know more!
low quality pic I know but it's all I have except that the headset is campy.

AD Ultima for a different market? If Campy drops that would likely point at the Ultima.

Iíve never seen that color in an Ad unless it is completely faded or something.

Looks like a Superleicht, I don't think the dark red Ultima could have faded that far.

Awesome! It would make a nice bike. It doesn't look all that bad from the pics.

I thought of that as well. Plus there is a 1983 "Ultima Superleicht" to confuse matters. It has to be toward that year since they were known for not brazing cable guides on the top tube for the top tier bicycles. Also, a few years, the fork crown was only panto-ed "AD" on the Ultima. They are basically the same frame I think; just the combination of components, which the Ultima usually had the better components oddly.

I don't remember either coming in a copper-esque color. Could be rose colored and faded.

Beautiful frame. What are they asking?

Asking 250.00. there was also a champagne model at some point. I think the bottle braze on on the down tube and cable guides point to a fairly late year.

'81 Superleicht????
Catalog picture sure doesn't look like any champagne I have ever tasted.

Ultima Superleicht.bmp (1259◊1639) (bulgier.net)

$250 is a bit steep, but if the size is perfect for you, I would buy - following a detailed hands-on inspection. Take a string for frame alignment check.

My Superleicht has drilled dropouts. I think that may be a clue.

I was thinking it's plenty of money but it's also the size I am apparently moving to in my old age. Oddly enough I am riding larger frames as I get older. I was going to bring wheels and a seatpost but string is even more important! I can straighten a frame and have done it before but that might bring the price down.

Good call all. That 1981 Superleicht looks the part.

As far as frame price, thatís not cheap, but it was one of the most respected non-Italian marquees late 1970s to early 80s.

Hey 52telecaster ,

I'll offer an insurance policy, if the frame is 59cm. If you buy and do not like the frame/fork, I will buy it from you. Whatever you pay + shipping to Seattle + gratuity. My Olympian and VN are both 61cm 'fast touring' models. 60cm is my perfect frame size, so I would like to try a 59 in the top racing model.

Lets put it this way. If it were a 56-57 and someone had it close for $250, Iíd try and talk them down a bit but I would ultimately jump.

Checking ebay, people are asking stupid prices for bikes with damaged frames.

A partially assembled mixte (Michelle), hi-ten tubes with paint chips = $300. Mine with better paint was $60, missing wheels and stem, bar, brake levers.

I'm hoping it's at least 59 I had ridden 23" for years and got a pair of 23.5 Raleigh's then the 24" Maserati. I'm beginning to think 24 is my ideal. The maserati is a blast. Columbus tubing rocks so I'd like to dive into 531 with the proper size frame. I'm going to look Thursday. I'll see how it goes.
