Picked up a Masi today. Nuova Strada with Galli

Looks like an mid-to-late 80s model to me, but I'm having trouble accessing the catalogs on the vintage Masi page. The Galli group is definately something you don't see very often. Seatpost and stem both moved, although I'm a little worried about the not-fully threaded in BB.

Anyone need a really long stem?

Handsome bike.
this model and the Gran Corsa had me scratching my head a bit when they were new.

the selling shop stated the Strada was basically a Colnago Super. I have never verified it.

both subordinate models are very worthwhile bikes, just very hard to spread them out to purpose other than price point.

-----

thanks very much for sharing this intake

fun to have a quality euro road machine with a non-Tulliese road ensemble

have never known the makers of all the bits in the road ensemble(s)

chainsets are reportedly Verot

pedals are Atom/Maillard

gear ensembles are obviously Juy

arrestors of course done in-house

looks like someone was unhappy with the pillar and replaced it with a Sakae Ringyo piece

---

BTW -

when one gets back far eno' they actually had some products other than brakes and toe clips

in the 1940's there was a rear derailleur, which iirc is covered at Disraeli

Masi

Sorry if this has already been answered. Don’t stress about bottom bracket. It’s a pretty modern cartridge unit put in with either a Shimano or Campag splined tool. The cups side just outside the shell there are some brands which go in flush.

Being Italian thread, the owner would have had limited options regarding what was available at a reasonable price.

The geometry is a bit of a surprise. Higher bottom bracket than the "Gran Criterium".
