What is this Stelvio?
 

Lot of bikes out there associated with that Italian mountain pass, but this doesn't look like any of them right away. Probably a lot of non-original parts and definitely some mechanical neglect, but does look like rear drop out is Campagnolo and is sporting Nervex lugs. So, what is it?

no reason to assume this is it

fork a replacement

first rudimentary check you could make is to determine tubing diameters and bottom bracket threading

me guess is that it shall turn out to be British dimension

chainstay stop screams "Britain"

domed stay ends suggest "production" over "artisan"

looks to hail from the early 1970's

views of seat stay treatment and bottom bracket area, both from above and from below would help readers

Thanks, man. Yeah, saw the Stelvio marque, but this doesn't look like any of those I saw. Has a British look to it, which could mean Holdsworth or Woodrup, but I'm skeptical.

Photos are from a Marketplace ad and bike is not in m possession. I'd post better photos, otherwise.

one British frame of this era which exhibited this combination of lug pattern and dropouts is the Raleigh RRA of 1973

brake bridge does not look right for that machine, but perhaps just a poor memory on my part

clincher would be if bottom bracket shell shows a "CC" cutout for Carlton Cycles

also keep in mind that the transfer set may be an aftermarket generic such as "Tour de France", "Competition", "World Champion", etc

one small detail consistent with the Raleigh RRA mentioned above is the absence of dropout eyelets

that machine was factory kitted with Weinmann model 500 brakes which have a centre of slot dimension of 50mm

if present wheels are 700's this is something which could be checked (on the rear only since fork is a replacement)...if machine were to be to hand...

cycle had only two braze-ons; in addition to the chainstay stop there is a no-slide pib on the downtube
