7-Eleven Corsa Extra: Best looking 1980s bike?
Was the 1989 7-Eleven team bike built by Eddy Merckx the best looking, most iconic 1980s road racing bike ever?

Very, very possible, Eddy knew and still knows exactly what he's doing with, on and about the bike.

Thanks to Steve in Peoria for posting the article that inspired this post. Man, that's a fine looking bike!
I did note--and this is of course nitpicking--that the bike Eddie is shown with is a different bike than in the rest of the pictorial. Besides no water bottle cages, the paint job is ever so slightly different, and the bikes have different stems.

What, the water bottle cages are not oversized to hold a Big Gulp?

It's too Christmas flavoured for my taste. Awaiting rebuttals from Bianchigirll, Centurion Ironmen owners, etc.

I was debating that issue last night when I was writing this, because usually those colors take me right to Christmas too. But studying the bike, the green just doesn't seem "Christmassy" to me, so I can't quite get there.
It was fun reading more about the 7-Eleven team back in the day. Sounds like they were "Rock 'n' Roll" in a world of classical violin.

The ones in the article have a number hanger. A lot of the ones I've seen pictures of do not. Was that a team vs. repro difference, or just a model year thing?
