Trouble removing front fork on Bianci Trofeo

I'm trying to remove the nut that screws onto the thread of the front fork and it's completely stuck. I'm sure the thread is messed up causing it to stick. Does anyone have a suggestion for getting it off without damaging the piece I'm trying to remove?

There are two. The race nut/adjustable cup for the bearing and the lock nut that tightens down to keep it "locked". Is it an Ofmega headset? Steel or alloy?

Although one decent wrench can remove the locknut, sometimes it helps to have two to get leverage for the first. That said, if lock nut...
1. Spray WD 40, or Kroil and let it drip onto the threads (not into the steerer, though that could help in removing the stem
1b. Remove the stem if you can. That can help.
2. Leave the front wheel completely attached in the fork and hold it between your knees.
3. Loosen the lock nut. I usually hold one hand on the barstem area and one on the wrench.

Heat and a better wrench. Make sure your only turning the nut and not the adjusting part underneath.

can’t say I’ve ever seen one of those not loosen.

One recent bike for me I had to tighten the adjustable cup while loosening the lock nut a bit to crack it free a bit. Amazingly, races were fine.

This. Use your thin headset wrench on the adjustable cup while loosening the locknut with your adjustable wrench.
