When given the choice, I like to buy local rather than a chain.

My favorite shop actually started as a distributor/roaster to businesses (I knew the owner from the days our boys played sports) to become a really large distributor/roaster with a really nice coffee shop which looks out to the production facility. Like seeing the kitchen in a nice restaurant. You can smell the beans roasting for miles away. Sometimes the smell draws me in when riding. I may eventually get a photo but was there today and their name is not in a place I can get the bike in front of it . Parks Coffee on Carrollton Texas. Recommend it highly. Plus it’s by a bike trail. |
I always take my 1968 coffee Super Course to Wuollet for coffee…..well not all the time, but it happened today.

Tutto Calcio. Whitestone, NY
I sometimes go there to watch F1 races, great crowd and they have the F1 subscription so there's multiple different screens. Mostly showing Ferrari cameras. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d74b655f6e.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...39ef874b08.jpg |

1959 Capo with Nervar Star crank and Campag. 980 derailleur upgrades and new Brooks Pro saddle. Since our local commuter heavy rail line (the Coaster, i.e., Coast Express Rail) opened in 1995, there have been various pop-up and more established (in the building right behind me) coffee shops at this station and others along the 43-mile route (Oceanside to downtown San Diego). I have taken advantage of the onboard bike racks on many occasions for split-mode travel. |

Well, I guess the bikes and beer theme wins.
I have to admit I thought there would be more coffee shop bean drinkers out there. A coffee shop is always our first choice on small rides. Large group rides will usually hit a gas station which has no ambiance. One more photo in front of Parks Coffee which I referred to earlier. Real fresh beans! My Bruce Gordon always enjoys the stop! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...5d7688fcb.jpeg |
One local group that I ride with regularly usually starts ride at a bakery/coffee shop, but I just don't have any decent pics to prove it. Most are like this one:
https://live.staticflickr.com/5621/3...2f80fe44_b.jpg I swear there's a bakery/coffee shop through that door! |
Great thread. Bike looks a bit different since this pic (switch to 700c, aero levers and different fenders) but:

Medici at Starbucks I was at Starbucks and took this pic of my bike. This guy was kind enough to keep an eye on it when I went inside to get my iced tea |

/QUOTE] That’s a good looking bike. |
Dagnabit. I forgot the picture. My newest recruit to the enjoyment of C&V rode with me to the "Copper Oven" to grab a cuppa, and then head back. Here's a picture of when I was rehabbing a bicycle (84 Schwinn Traveler) for him. One of the many "progress" photo's I provided him. I'm proud to bring in a recruit in their 20's to the fold. First time at the Copper Oven... coffee was good, the ride and company even better. The staff was excellent, and we plan to return for a full breakfast next time.

Most of my local coffee shops are within a mile of my house so I usually brew at home and hardly ever work one into a bike ride. One day though!
John E if there’s a bike and taco thread, I know you would crush it! Lots of great options on the way between Encinitas and SD. |
