My route home from work follows a canal through some farm fields. There's usually water in the canal, which is also occupied by some Western Box Turtles. I don't see them every day, but when I do, it cheers me immensely. I don't know why. No pics because those buggers are deceptively fast!
Edit: I don't think they're Western Box Turtles. I don't know what kind they are. But I really enjoy seeing them.

I picked up a vintage mountain bike (and all chrome 1986 Ross Mount Hood) to ride in next year's Cino. Three days later my buddy Dana picked up almost the exact same bike. He calls it the "Spite Bike" because he paid less than I did.

You got it wrong man! Look more closely. My bike has the uber-cool and quite effective Suntour roller cam brakes, not U-brakes.

I’m Cheerful that I’ve had ZERO flats in 2022. Yes I know it’s not December yet and I should keep my mouth shut, but I haven’t had a flat-free year since the Clinton administration. Heck one year I had over 15…thank you Compass extra lights.
