The DA stem is way nice! I road one for years. My memory is that it creaked. That was always a bit concerning. I probably didn’t maintain it as I should have. Most beautiful ever made.

Never had a creak come from any of mine but then again I’ve only owned about a dozen over the last 40 years. I polished one up and it is gorgeous. I even had a buddy mill a replacement cap for me out of stainless steel. No Shimano on that one for those so easily triggered ❄️. That’s it on the Tesch, or was it.

The exposed portion of road bars is only three or four inches total. Install a cheap bar that looks good…polish it to match the stem, even. Use the combination while you wait and save for the matching bars. It’s possible you could get another eBay deal!
