Brakes for 27” to 700c
Been working on this project for awhile now, not 100% on how I want to build it. I’m leaning more for a light race bike. My decision will mainly be decided on the wheels and brakes. I’d like to run these Araya Red Label tubulars but I’m needing long reach calipers. What are some nice light weight calipers? Needs to be nutted. Thanks. Black Dura Ace has been on my mind for this.

I have Gran Compe side pull brakes(Campy copies) on my Medici and they stop very well. I would say better than Campy but it could be the pads. I am not sure what reach is available. The model is NGC400 or NGC500. The ones on the Medici are recessed but I have another set that are nutted. You can also get drop bolts for brakes that may give you enough reach.

What is the reach you need? If between 47mm and 57mm, Suntour Superbe are nice sidepulls with that range, but you have to make sure they're the long reach version (marked with "4700" on the back of the caliper). If you're not wedded to sidepulls, Mafac Racers are always nice.
