Nice, but what is this "vapor blasting" you speak of?

Googled it. It is like a typical blasting but using a slurry with abrasive in the water. Intended for AL parts.

-----

this might be good for some of the low end Sakae Ringyo components where corrosion seems to get in under the anodising

I have been considering this method for some time...

Attachment costs about 30 USD from Amazon or Harbor freight. I think a light media like Sand might be good for aluminum. I once had a crank sand blasted to get the black anodized finish off of it. I am not sure it was worth the effort cause it took me a few days to buff it out to a shine...

(just noted that when my add blocker is activated the Herf to Youtube does not show... Go Figure. Here is the title of the vid if ya can't see the Herf "Wet sandblasting rusty metal using Northern Tools power washer adapter"

It basically is just an abrasive in water instead of air. There is a cushioning effect so the finish is less rough, more like a bright casting finish.

Boyd's Blasting in Edmonds WA. 30 bucks for a stem, which was 5 bucks from used parts place. Not bad overall.
