Those are nominally 35 mm tires, but in actuality they measure 1.33-inches, so 1 1/3-in or so. In other words, not too far off from the 27 x 1 1/4-in tires of my youth!

Thanks on Interrupters Idea- do these work in tandem with existing brakes or replace them? Do your existing brakes become decoys- dead soldiers? it seems so but just wanted to confirm

Thanks I just bought tubes that are now marked 1.25- 1.50 and they had an extended length valve that is WAY too long. I'm returning them - also they are much larger than the old tube which I decided to patch rather than put a Franken Tube on there. Is there any dark art to sizing choosing the right tubes? It should not be this hard!

Classtime, Normally I'd agree with you on take it slow, but Ive been riding a MT bike a little bit over the last year and my son got me a stem extension and its ok but still not leaned back far enough. (sitting up I have to ride no hands to stretch the back whenever it's safe - and I get numbness in my hands- and I'm in pretty good shape- just too many birthdays! I'd just change the bars to touring? (like a 3 speed Raleigh, is that touring?) but Ive been building a bike part just for this problem - I'm just the designer of it not the inventor - working with a friend who is a doctor and a long distance rider - this is his dream and he's been doing all the product testing. I'm about to mount one on my bike and test it for myself. I can't show pics yet (patent app) but look fwd too soon.

Something like this?

There seem to be more long valve stem tubes on the market than shorter ones.
Good luck

They work in tandem with the original brake levers. You cut the housing in the middle and the cable feeds through.
