My Father-in-law built refineries for a living. Overseas, moved every two years. So my Mother-in-law started over every two years learning the new culture, people, shopping, language. My wife says that my MIL would, at times, speak 3 to 4 different languages in one sentence.

My wife would learn languages quickly so, in shops, would be in charge of negotiating the prices.

More pedals, more Lyotard, all steel

Even after this I still have two or three more types of Lyotard

I really like MKS RX-1 pedals. Many miles of hard use on my touring bike. Very nicely made, they spin forever. Super comfortable with my current favorite shoe
When I first bought them, Bob Freeman weighed them and said they were just as light as his Campagnolo titanium spindled Super Record pedals.
He was surprised at that because the RX-1's have steel spindles.

Those MKS above look a lot like the Cyclone pista pedal.

Two more pedals today, the Suntour XC Compe

and a pair of Shimano 600 tricolor.

In looking at the spec sheet for the equivalent Dura Ace pedals, it says you could get the toe clips in either steel or alloy. I've only seen the steel versions.

I wonder if alloy clips were ever made, and if so, how durable they are (or were).

Just removed this pair of Barelli Supremes from the Medici. I like riding them in street shoes, but don't seem to get much of a 'positive lock' with the cage plate when wearing cleat-free cycling shoes. They've stayed looking good and served me well this last four years or so:

Back to tried-and-true Campy Superleggeri pedals for now...

The town of Chiosure, to be precise. And a place I seem to frequent. This was a few years later.

The pedals on this machine are KKT Pro Vic II's, BTW. Also very nice pedals, I might add.

do we have any members who pedal Barelli?

have never had the opportunity to see a set in person

IIRC BICYCLING! magazine published a press release or review of them back at launch

as remembered, two models were offered

inox cages

ah, here we go, three models were offered -

as recalled, launch was ca. 1976

humourous that Barelli is a UK product whilst Sheffield an Italian one
