Does anyone have a source for oddball tire sizes: 22x1 3/4?
I have what appears to be a Japanese domestic market bike. It could be a child size version of a momacheri. The tires are marked 22x1 3/4 with no other size reference. I measured the rim, per Sheldon's instructions and it it comes out to be 501 mm BSD. The only thing I have been able to find in that size is a wheelchair tire in 22x1 3/8 or 37-501. I have tried 22x1.75, but they are much smaller. 24x1.75/ 507mm slips right off, although the innertubes fit well enough to ride the bike a little. I just don't trust the ancient gum tread to hold up to any long term use. It looks like the gum hoods that are frequently posted here. Does anyone have a secret source of oddball tires?
For the curious, it has a Shimano three speed hub with a twist grip shifter, a band brake in the back and a caliper in front, front basket and rear rack, a plastic skirt guard over the rear wheel, cushioned saddle, upright handlebars, and a generator with dual headlights under the basket and a tail light on the rear fender.

The chain case, fenders, basket, and skirt guard are on the floor below.

J&B Importers lists a 22 x 1.75 tire with a 457 mm ISO diameter, branded Sunlite Urban and currently out of stock. You could check for availability with your local bike shop that would have a JBI account.

Here it is, out of stock at modernbike.com. I don't know how legit these guys are.

I tried a 457 mm ISO tire at the local shop. They were way too small. I have ordered from Modern Bike in the past, no issues.
Thanks for that, I had not found any wide tires in my searches. I don't know if it will fit under the fenders though. I would like something more like the Kenda tread. The 1 3/8 size may be the best I can get.

That might work but the price makes it hard to swallow. I was looking at this one: https://enableyourlife.com/previewim...odtype=product
