Celeste Bianchi Cable kit and colour match for 1987 Bianchi Limited Celeste Metallic

Two Questions
1) Jagwire Celeste color
is there better cable to buy (the color more true that is ) or is this the one to purchase. I need 2-3

Jagwire Pro Brake Cable Kit Road SRAM/Shimano, Bianchi Celeste

2) Color match for Metallic Celeste
Is there a source for a touch up paint. its not the regular celeste. Its metallic.

I am notorious for being obsessed with Celeste. My advice, based on my person experience and the distilled wisdom of those who commented on that thread, is to not try to match the from with Celeste accessories like cables. Colors that nearly match look much worse than contrasting colors. I'd suggest something more complementary like Jagwire's SID Blue. The biggest danger is that it will be a near-match to the Campagnolo sticker and thus clash with it. Here's my Bianchi with the aforementioned blue cables. My shade of Celeste is very different than yours, but I think it would still work for you.

As for matching the paint...good luck with that! I have never been successful trying to match pearl paint like that. You might be able to get close enough for the small spots. Anything big will probably look bad. You might try taking your fork to a store that has a good selection of nail polish.

All I can say is good luck. Bianchi's Celeste has never been one set color so matching it is a touch one. I used the the Jagwire brake housing on the Trofeo I refurbished and am perfectly fine with it. I then got a bulk length of celeste shifter housing from Porkchop BMX for the RD. None of it a perfect match but I like it a lot better than the blue the bike came with.

Just realized I have shot the bike since replacing the RD housing.

Like Bianchigirll mentioned above. For paint match just make the rounds with the fork and see if you can find something close enough. Nail Polish usually gives the most options but I've found Hobby Lobby also carries a large selection of paints. Some have mentioned even being able to get a local Lowes store to scan the frame and then mix up some matching enamel paint and I guess most auto paint stores could do the same.

Fizik Bondcush Classic bar tape is a perfect match to my paint. What you see on here is Sram Cork if I remember correctly. I kept the FIzik for use when I sell this Trofeo and find another celeste Bianchi in my size.

Jagwire colour

I have three Bianchi bikes.
2 I am building up so the Wire can be new and uniform.
On my 1987 Specialissima Giro, you can see just after the neck there is wear on the cable, but again, the color is almost exact to the frame. Hard to replace with out doing it all on the bike.

Anyone have a NOS cable

With this experience, I decided to go with a contrasting color for cables:

this shows close but not exact matches with cable, pump. Handle bar tape is cool and does shoe how a blue like the decals works

you determine if you would be ok or not with not exact matches

(not my bike, in the window of a skateboard shop in Valley Fair, San jose....was looking to buy but price was double what it should be)

I am afraid that a "touch-up" on metallic paint will be very difficult if not impossible without using a spray gun of some kind (air-brush) etc. Trying to apply metallic paint by brush will not let the particles disperse properly because the brush will put on too much paint (liquid) on the area. Metallic particles need to be applied so that they disperse evenly and in lighter cotes and a brush cant/wont do this.
Good Luck, Ben

I used the Jagwire product on one of my bikes, and am happy with the result.

I should take this to the shop and scan it and get automotive single stage paint made as a code.

Its the fork factory paint from my 1980 Rekord
