RAGBRAI Vintage Meet up?

Hey guys,
Who would be up for a RAGBRAI meet up? Not sure if im riding vintage to be honest with you but it would be good to ride with some forum members.

Let me know what you think.

Also keep in mind my February Pre Chicago Bike swap party. Let me know if your interested. See my other thread for more details or PM Me.

Thanks

If you can successfully corral a bunch of cyclists from different teams and groups to all be in one place at one time on Ragbrai, you will be a legend in the organizational circles. Your name will be spoken with the highest of praise for years to come.

I'll be riding, likely on a steel frame with modern drivetrain. If the meet up time and place are doable, I'll for sure stop by.
Part of what's fun on Ragbrai is to roll up on random others who you know are riding their old frame by choice vs by default and chat bikes.

I thought the whole point of RAGBRAI was to see how many pancakes or slices of pie you can eat? Have I been doing it all wrong?

Cruising along and just checking out bikes and chatting with random folks is a definite benefit, though! It's not isolated to RAGBRAI, of course. I ran into Bike Forums lurker Mike Kelly on his lovely Fiorelli at last year's Hilly Hundred ride in Bloomington, IN Great bike, great guy, and a fun chat!

Apologies for not getting a shot of Micheal himself!

My current plans are to go. I'm working through my schedule now. My hopes are to bring seven (7) 1973 bikes and to ride a different one each day. I have to see what I have ready to go. I might have to substitue a couple of 1974's.......

Here's my '70 P15 loving RAGBRAI in 2012. The bikes I rode from '78 to '85 would only be vintage by today's standards.

50th anniversary. Great idea yet with even more challenging logistics. Perhaps coordinate an all classic and vintage riders group on 1973 steeds.
