Gios Torino Super Record Fork Crown Coins Reproduction.

For interest only. Not sure if posted before by someone else but I have just seen this.

Apparently 14 sets of these coins have been sold. Not sure if all at the current price but no doubt were not cheap !

I recall when the GIOS Super Record was in production, some owners would pop out the coins and replace them with nickels. A check of US coin sizes indicates that the $5 half-eagle and $10 Gold Eagle are only slightly larger, as is the current $25 Platinum Eagle. If I lost the "coins" in the crown of my Gios, I sure wouldn't be paying high prices for repros when I could have something far cooler.
