What does :twitchy: mean on the C&V forum?
Would someone please explain the meaning of:
:twitchy: as it is being used in posts on the Classic and Vintage forums? Thanks in advance. |
Proceed carefully. :twitchy:

have always assumed it is intended to indicate "I don't get it" or "I find this weird" ----- |

Depends on the context.
That bike is wack The PO of that bike was wack The seller of that bike is wack That bike manufacturer was wack. ... |
I  :twitchy:, ;).
:roflmao2: |
Fork is bent.
|
I've always assumed it meant something like "this is freaking me out."
But I've noticed that we don't all use it in the same way. |

I saw the title and thought "twitchy" like the Fuji Professional I raced in the '70s with its 75 degree head angle and same fork rake of its smaller sisters. The bike that was very nervous reaching for the DT shifters first weeks every spring.
I came to love that twitchiness for that bike, a pure race bike with no other aspirations. That bike found its way through many crashes. And I learned early on I could trust it completely. A month after I got it I did an unplanned jump off a frost heave I didn't see (misted glasses) until it was maybe 30 feet away and I was going well over 50. Backside of Smuggler's Notch.) A seatpost bending kick in the butt. Bike came down exactly straight. Round wheels. "A keeper!" And edit, not related to this thread but kinda fun - my winnings that race? A Zeus seatpost to replace the bent one! Yes, a good bike, good heart, All the bikes I've had any say about has had a small level of twitch since. Some quite a bit. (Peter Mooney made all the steering calls on my namesake and it is just pure classic.) Isn't twitch associated with the use of a street drug? |

I have one bike that if I haven't ridden in awhile, sudden movements can cause it to move on its own. Vintage, very steep angled track bike. If I sneeze, the bike changes lanes, so to speak 😂

Extremely fast response to input

I think, within C&V, it is used to convey the nervous apprehension one feels when another member says something like "Here, hold my beer while I test out these wooden rims on this downhill single track." Actually, for me, that emoji encapsulates the feeling I have when venturing outside of the genteel BF C&V sub-forum into the more sociopathic General and Road Cycling sub-forums. Is there a closed-eyes, teeth-clenching, knee-clutching, rocking-in-the-corner after asking a stupid question emoji?, |
if i see a tweaker rolling down the street with 3 20 ft 2x4's it means
Code:
are you fuusking kidding me? :twitchy: Code:
i feel your pain brother :twitchy: Code:
that's gonna leave a mark :twitchy: |
It should mean "close to a nervous breakdown and barely holding it together", as in
