Seriously. I have a 1978 model - I am the original owner and I have babied it, and it still doesn't look that good.

These bikes were the last of the oversquare top tubes. I have one. Nice bike, Columbus transfers but built with some 753.

the French are liberal with the tubing declarations. Maybe, use up what they had after the falling out with Reynolds?

Congratulations! Very nice find!

Dumpster finds, they do happen, I have one, a Japanese-made 1983 Puch Odyssey, all there, hardly worn original IRC tires, no accident damage, no corrosion or rust, paint in almost like-new condition, and mechanically near perfect.

The apartments here have a community dumpster with two big flip-open lids. I went to the dumpster to drop off a bag of rubbish, flipped open its lid, there was this bike laid out on top of everything else in the bin, gave it a quick look-over and then could not say no to lifting it out and rolling it back and into my apartment where it remains today.

Gorgeous bike, beautifully built and in great condition all around. This rivals the Alex Singer dumpster find of a few months back….

Says saved from the dumpster. May have been a do you want it or I'm going to throw it away scenario. Still, who would clean it before they threw it away?

Pretty sure tossing that bike in the trash is a crime in some states. They have adoption drop-offs at fire stations and bike co-ops for orphans.

Also, this ain't r3dd!t and there's no extra credit for karma farming with bike pr0n.

Also also... fork's bent.

<raises hand> Everything I put in the recycling bin is empty, clean and dry. And, yes, they do accept bike parts, like aluminum dork discs, steel seatposts, steel cranksets, steel bars...

But a beautiful, upper-level Motobécane? Whaaa??

Guess they better lube the bearings then...I got a call on the radio that the recycling manager wanted to see me before I went home. A lady had brought by a Bridgestone Mile 112 and said she didn't want it going in the garbage. I took care of that.
