75 Paramount P60/P65 mixte/step-through/ladies
Starting a build on my latest acquisition, a '75 P60 or P65 in Flamboyant Lime. ....

22 inch frame...

Pretty decent chrome, paint is adequate enough to keep as original

H7538 - 38th frame made in August 1975.

Interestingly, the frame appears to be sized for Campy brakes rather than Weinmanns.... they fit without a drop bolt - even with 700C rims

Lotus symbols I have seen on other Paramount frames

Matching number on the steerer tube

Any idea the significance of the lotus's?
Traditional Campy build then?
Always loved these with the full on Campy, leaves no doubt that they are fabulous top of the line for the day in a step through.

70's with upright bars, converted already when it came to me and just fine with ms. merziac.

40's Wastyn, rebooted in the 70's with paint and livery of the day.

Went to look at a Kool Lemon stepthrough in 22" back in the '80s but did not get it. It would have been a foolish expenditure at the time.

Never seen a Kool Lemon on the ground, sure would like to.

The 3 above may not have been the best deals but all in about $1200 so..... I'm very happy to have them.

To me that is one of the great appeals of the Paramount - all the vivid colors! Speaking of Kool Lemon, here is my '71, non-step through....

Nearing completion....
Had some time to hang a few parts on this bike, interesting that the clearances actually permit Campy brakes. I put some "normal" reach Campys on and it's almost like they could take short reach! Interesting, as I was expecting the usual Weinmanns to be necessary...

Old logo 1A and mod 66 (Campione Del Mondo) Cinelli bars

PAT 73 RD

High flange Campy 73 date

Standard reach Campy, need to move up, I thought they would need the full length...

Gorgeous!
Re: the subject line, did Schwinn ever make a mixte Paramount? I don't think I've ever seen one.
What's the seatpost diameter? Since it doesn't have the mid-stays of a mixte, there's a large bending force on the seat tube where the toptube (or whatever you call it) hits. Your frame has a pretty good kink there, so whatever tube Schwinn used, it wasn't quite strong enough for whatever whump caused that wrinkle. Keep an eye on that spot; if you put enough miles on it, it might develop a fatigue crack there. It might be interesting to put a straight-endge along the back of the tube to see if there's any bend. The amount of bend might be too small to measure.
BTW the chainstay braze-on is meant to have bare housing coming in, no ferrule. You may want to use a ferrule anyway, just 'cuz you like 'em, I don't judge! But the intention of the maker was bare housing, filed or ground flat at the cut. According to my old boss who went to Schwinn school anyway. And that's mostly how I've seen them.
