Help with serial number

I just picked up a bike being thrown out and I thought I'd like to fix it to use. Can someone tell me what Fugi bike this is and what year? M8C09571

That serial number might be consistent with 1973 for a Fuji, but can't say for sure without pictures.

Agree, that serial number reads as 1973 Fuji to me too. Without pictures there's no way to determine the model, though.

If it is a Fuji Serial number and located on the seat tube, then the first digit 8 is for the year of manufacture, Showa year 48 or 1973.

Some possible models are Special Tourer, Special Road Racer, or S 10 S.

Good Morning and Welcome to the forums. So can you tell us more about the bike? Does it have any chrome? Are there names on any of the parts? Shimano? Suntour? Dia Compe? Color?

There is a way to upload pics to your gallery so we can see them, but for archaic security reasons you can't post pics your first two days.
