Trek 2000 Year?
Good Morning! I bought a Trek 2000 and was trying to figure out what year it is. By the serial number it should be a 1990 according to the Vintage Trek site. I see it listed as a frame but not in this color scheme (pearl white with blue decals). Also, this has a clamp on front derailleur and I think they were braze ons? I have googled it and come up with White with Red decals. The frame and fork are aluminum. Any idea as to year? Thank you for your help!

Trek 2000 road quality
Here's another thread with some of the same questions. What will make this more difficult is that the nice components of this 2000 were probably harvested and replaced with the low-end parts mix you see here.

Although not listed in the US Trek catalog, 1990 does seem to be the correct year. That head badge was used 1988 - 1992 and apparently the 2000 was redesigned as a welded aluminum frame in 1991. The 1989 was only available as a frameset, perhaps that was true in 1990 also. Besides the integrated front derailleur mount, the 1989 does not have the hole shown in the drive side dropout and the top tube graphic is a different design.
