Ugo De Rosa
As many of you may already be aware, Ugo De Rosa passed away a few days ago. While I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, I didn't want to disturb him too much despite having written a book about his bikes with his consent, as I held a great deal of respect for him. Now I am sorry I didn't talked with him more often. However, even without direct communication, his bikes made it feel as though I was speaking with him every day. And we are lucky we can continue to do so anytime thanks to all his creation he left us.
I want to take this opportunity to bring greater attention to his work, particularly his early creations, as they are becoming increasingly difficult to find. For this reason, I would like to encourage the widest possible distribution of the book "Classic De Rosa". The book features a collection of 50s and 60s bikes that are rare and may not appear again anytime soon.
I am also more than happy to share next days some bikes from my collection as a tribute. Starting from this one below, which I bought back from US (never seen another like this since its discover 10 years ago). I dated this around 63-65.

Terrific appearance.
I considered bidding on one a bit later some 15 years ago, sold for about $4,000 US.
an inquiry as to the introduction date of the Regina Oro chain, they existed when I became aware of racing bicycles but that was 1972. They were uncommon. I found a Raleigh catalog image from 1971. Very inconclusive earlier than that. Chains were a wear item so upgrading was frequent.

Just the Oro chain caught my eye, as the earliest use I have seen would be in an image in an old International Cycle Sport magazine from 1970.
Not the most granular.
I believe the Oro cog freewheel appeared first, but dated catalogs just don't seem to surface.

By original I may refer to paint, decals and components. Of course tape and tubular (maybe chain) are more recent!
