I fell of the wagon...
So much for the moratorium on adding N+1 after my Fauxsin...Bumblebeena wanted a younger sibling and this came available for $60. What is cool about it is the PO’s story. It is a bike with a sweet back story and I promised it wasn’t a flip (everyone knows I can’t let go of stories frames).
Has about 30,000 miles of amazing stories from he and his wife over the years. Bought it new in 87 and participated in a century in Florida and was featured in an article. Picture and all.
Really great talking with the guy, and he threw in size 10.5/11 Brancale shoes which if some person needs them they are available!
A bit of rust here and there but really beautiful color way and workmanship. Sizes out around 55cm so I can make it work but trying to get my son interested...

Original 600ex

Biopace champagne

Even has the N gibbet mine was missing and replace with a bee sticker

Kawamura

The 1987 upgrade I guess. Sort of intimidated to thread the cable through...

Ridden so many miles the shifter broke down. He replaced it and left it mismatched. Very cool!

I didn't even know you had seen the wagon....
That's natural landscaping. A small bit of jargon will save you many hours of yardwork, and you can claim that it's better for the environment.

Oh, and...nice bike. I'm a fan of anything Kawamura made, and those 600 components look good.

Very Nicely Put Together. I'd consider trading my IM for one just to get the rear drop out treatment and reinforcements on the bottle bosses and looks like the brake bridge too.

I had a Kawamura-built Nishiki Prestige for a while that I didn't like very much, but I was dumb back then, so...
...and now I'm building up a Huffy so I guess I haven't made much progress lol.
Beautiful bike and I'm sure it will ride fantastic - looks the equivalent of an Ironman and that Tange 1 is some nice-riding stuff.

Bumblebeena is happy...
I am thinking of using one of my tri-color sets for the newer one, but hate to not have the champagne colored araya wheels on this. They might make their way to another frame.

@jdawginsc,
Nice score and a great back story! I hope he likes it. As you know, I climbed back on the back of the Moratorium Wagon about a year ago, and worked my way to the front of the wagon, fell off and the damned thing ran me over! My downfall was this rather large Raleigh Competition. I am hoping this will leave soon and get me back to just N+1

It is fairly complete but is way too large for my 29" inseam. Appears to be 62 C-C, and I am off to the appraisals thread to see if it will move to a new home.
It is like an addiction, we quit and stay clean for a while and then "Off the Wagon" we go. Keep up the good work. Smiles, MH

By the way, if anyone has this year TriA do you know if the cable routes all the way through the top tube or just stopped on either side? Is there an inner tube connecting the routing holes?

Well, if it will make you feel any better, I just got an offer on one of my bikes that I had been trying to sell so I could “downsize”. It is a reasonable offer and now I may decline as I am getting cold feet about letting go. I love and ride all my bikes but am a bit embarrassed when folks come in my shop and see 15 ten speeds lined up in racks . I thought I would sell off the 60cm bikes first as they are only good for about 2 1/2 hours before the comfy is gone. I usually ride a 62-64cm bike and 60 is just a tad small but rideable.

Wow, this is a great find! At $60 and in my size, I'd have been tripping over myself to get to it. I'm currently at +3 and I might have made it 4! :-)

I have a 1984 Nishiki International Ole and the frame and fork look similar including the foirk badge and the Kawamura decal. I just rode it to work and back yesterday after riding my 2006 Felt F-65 the day before. The Nishiki frame is just so sweet. I almost let it go last year, but I am so glad I didn't.
Not to hijack the thread but how is my frame similar to the OPs...or is it?
Here's the story:

I actually mis-measured it and it is closer to 53.5 CTC which is small for me, but I am thinking of a straight bar conversion...or something.
