More fun with MTB bars
We had the left or right thumbie/brake lever post the other day and the integrated version won out with the slingshot stem.
So this setup gets the other levers and thumbies with these unique bars. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...38caa5aa2b.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8c9377bc40.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d43fcd1a09.jpg |
I'm seeing a lot of vintage mountain bike refurbs. with this stem and handlebar set up and I like it. Raises the cock pit up enough to be a comfortable casual ride instead of stretched out on the traditional bars. Where is the bar and stem from?

These may go on a Stumpy I have. Plenty of other BMX style bars can be found to raise things up. ;) |

Plenty of other BMX style bars can be found to raise things up. ;) How do those micro shifters work when converting over from an Altus group set, or some other lower end Shimano components of the day? I've seen people put the BMX style bars on them as well but I find that gets a bit too far from it's original look for me. |
I am partial to my forward-projecting extensions, which give me a wrist neutral rotation hand position, as one would get with drops or with mustache bars.

That's the bike I often see them on, along with updated pedals, grips, brakes and a Brooks seat. Usually converted to a 1X11 or 10.

Regular bullmoose is always an option too, I have a couple sets but they go out with no up unless you us a stem extender which is usually kind of :twitchy:. They have low rise BMX that look ok to me and I may get some just to see but agree that the tall ones often don't work well looks wise. ;) |
Please post the final result when you're finished, I'm excited to see how it will look.

I put the shifters up side down and backwards. Jimi Hendrix style. I’m still debating if I like it. i know I like being able to put my hands all along the watch tower. I mean along the bars… |

I got some blue, un-padded Neubaums from the RivBike guys. I think the thinner, narrower tape will make a more presentable..... presentation of the SunTour pods. . ... apologies for that taping. I hope it don't get me banned, like FeistBob or something.... |
