Old Mongoose ALTA question..
One of yesterday's yard sale finds.
How old is this little bike ? Binky ? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c03715bdc5.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...76ecb69ab9.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1fe19f7fbb.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...21719507d8.jpg |
Nice find! Bio-pace points to it being late 1980s. There should be a date code on the back side of the cranks and derailleurs, which this page can help decode: https://vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm

Early 90s, almost certainly. Mongoose was making some nice bikes back in this era. I've worked on a few and found them to be nicely equipped and very smooth-riding. Enjoy!

The only problem with the bike is that it is a bit too small for me. I knew that when I bought it. It hasno rust, the Exage 500LX group, Araya wheels, and Dia Compe brakes. But at $25 CDN (About $18.25 US) I could not leave it there... Binky https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8c2ca84391.jpg |

That is one of the better of the make, I think right before the brand had turned into the big box store supplier.
