I had to look him up; he had like you say a long, distinguished even, career, and seems he was very popular in France. I read he rode Mercier for his whole career. I also read he had bicycles made under his name by the France-Loire company. Was that who owned Manufrance at the time, or would that be a different bicycle altogether than the one in the photo?

That's great, they put his image on the head badge decal! I may have to get a decal made for my Manufrance with my pretty face on it.

I've become intrigued by folding bikes lately; now that I know my beloved St. Etienne produced some I will have to see if there are any extant. I think even in the Manufrance paradise of North Dakota they're not yet falling from trees. Additionally, I will say that my face has never cracked a mirror, thank you very much.
