Need help identifying a part
 

Hello,

Can someone tell me what the name of the part is in the picture? The right angled headset spacer with the upside down smiley face.

I need one for my 1960 Dunelt restoration but I don't know what it's called? Also what is it used for?

Are you supposed to feed the cables through it? Or is it some sort of head lamp mount?

Headlamp mount!

Interesting. Does anyone have any pictures of a headlamp actually mounted on that? I have a couple other 3 vintage bikes with that and thought it was some sort of cable guide. LOL.

3 speed bikes not 3 vintage bikes...

They also made squarish 2D cell battery lights that had a wide, flat U-shaped sheet metal receiver on the back that just slid on. Standard equipment on single speed utility bikes BITD.

I thirsted for one of those brackets for my three speed, then realized it would lead to me wanting the light, then realized that would lead to me wanting a power supply for said light. ($$$). Then I snapped out of it realizing I don't even ride in the dark and just got a spacer instead:o

The really cool ones mount to the right side of the right side of the fork. On English bikes of a certain vintage that headlight bracket is obligatory.
