UBB tip

@ADMINISTRATOR, Please move this post to the appropriate location.
Anyone use the img ubb tag to grab remote images by url instead of downloading them and uploading them?
Code:

then insert your remote url
Code:

https://i0.wp.com/www.curbsideclassic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/001-1.jpg
then close your tag
Code:

[/img]

That will tell the forum to reach out to the remote server and pull it.
To get the image url just right click the image and select copy image address
the result
https://i0.wp.com/www.curbsideclassi...6/05/001-1.jpg

That's how the IMG tag has worked for... well.. a while now. The one caveat is that if the remote site is down, or the site reorganizes its content and the URL changes, the tag breaks. This is no big deal with quasi-ephemeral posts such as references to images in craigslist ads. But otherwise, to be certain, importing to your BF gallery will be a more stable way of presenting images here. Using your BF gallery also avoids potential issues with other members being on machines where a remote photo's location is blocked.

A while? That's an understatement. However, unlike yourself, not everyone is versed in UBB code or even know this forum runs on it.
This is true depending on if the forum admin had the forum set to download or mirror. Mirrors break.
