You don't have to start 10 threads--you can reply to existing threads. And it's probably poor form to insult the rules of a forum that you can join for free, on your very first post.

Now, if you reply to me, you'll have two posts.

ThermionicScott 07-12-23 02:02 PM

Because this is a community where it's nice to get to know people before you make demands of them. :)

Contribute to, and start to become a part of a community before extracting information from it. Welcome to the Forum.

bargainguy 07-12-23 02:04 PM

One easy way: Go to the Introductions section and say hello to nine of your new friends in their posts. 10 posts - done.

SpartanSaint75 07-12-23 02:06 PM

I dont doubt that its poor form. However I have to believe that rules such as this drive would be participants in your community towards things such as FB groups and what not, that would allow me to seek answers more directly.

Now, I have to engage in conversations I didnt want to engage in before I can even bother to ask the question I came here to ask.

I really just wanted to send BianchiGirl a message asking for a link to the photos of bianchi catelogs, as the links in here are broken.

Its honestly why I stopped participating in forums for a long time. All of the links are broken, and you arent allowed to communicate with anyone.

You're communicating with folks right now. Just 8 more to go!

You seem like a nice person!

I would be more inclined to participate, contribute, and become a part of the community if I actually felt welcome.

Instead it seems like yall would rather newbies stay on more relevant platforms

Anything you want, say "Hi" AND introduce yourself, tell us your intent, if you're one of us or just fishing, which is ok but 5 posts X 2 days for 10 is a security measure that serves us very well.

You can add pics to an album on your homepage that may get moved here as workaround.

Hopefully you have something of value to us to contribute.

Welcome aboard, glad you found us. ;)

Thank the world's spammers.

Having said that, I do wish there was a better way.

Seems like words and a better attitude could have accomplished that.

I'd be happy to treat this thread as a mulligan, though. Welcome aboard! ;)

As they say, first impressions are lasting impressions. Hope you stick around. Although I'm not sure what you'll do when you realize you can only post 5 times a day as a newbie.

I believe there is. No other hobby Forum I'm involved in has such a rule...and yet, I've never seen a forum get more call girl threads than this one.

Context is generally important to making a proper judgement about someone.

To come into a complaint thread and assume anything about my character tells me an awful lot about yours

Just keep complaining and you'll reach 10 in no time.

chain_whipped 07-12-23 02:14 PM

Admins blame it on 45.

It’s really quite an easy rule to live with as far as rules go. The fact that it bothers you so much doesn’t bode well for you staying around and participating once you’ve gotten what you came for. Pretty arrogant if you ask me to come to someone’s house and complain about them before even getting to know anyone. If you like FB so much, why don’t you go find your answers there?

I admit it...based on your first post, I assume a lot about your character! I suspect you won't be around long enough for me to learn more.

Maybe the current system is working after all.

tombc 07-12-23 02:17 PM

I'm confused, did they assume my compliment meant something else?

smd4 07-12-23 02:18 PM

Well, he hit 5...
