Still kickin'

Hey everyone, just checking in. Haven't had much time for bikes lately, we've been really busy at work and I've been catching up on other home projects that got neglected due to my bad knees and not being able to do things like walk more than a few yards at a time, stand for more than 30 seconds at a time, etc. but the knees are doing really good now so it was time to get back on them. Mostly home repairs and updates, maintenance items on the mowers, etc.......... you know, "fun" stuff.

Here's one non-bike project that I've been wanting to get back on, my old 1970 Wheelhorse I used to mow with. It chucked a rod a few years back and got put in mothballs. I finally rolled it back out and cleaned it up and I recently bought a 14 HP Kawasaki out of a John Deere to replace the original 8 HP Tecumseh. I have to make an adapter plate as the bolt hole patterns are quite a bit different between the 2 engines. The Kawasaki will fit under the hood but I may have to shave a little off the back edge of the grille unless I have room to set the engine 3/8" to the rear. Besides the adapter plate I'll have to fabricate a custom exhaust for it but everything else is pretty straightforward. That's Howie in the background, he's been gone 10 years now, he was THE best...... we really miss him.......

Might be awhile before I pop back in but I shall return, you aren't getting rid of me that easily. :D

Glad your knees are recovering. Pretty cool project. I did a similar DIY adaptor plate on my IH truck. Custom clutch too. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Now 10 years later it needs a clutch and I'm the only one who can fix it. D'oh! I have been enjoying biking to work however.

Oh there are multiple bike projects, they're just on hold for awhile.
