Mohawk Paint
 

Just finished a project using Mohawk paint in a rattle can. Can't say enough good things about this stuff. It is the nicest rattle can paint I have ever used. Goes on evenly, flows extremely well, and produces a smooth finish. No more Rustoleum for me.

I went to their web site but could not find any listings for spray paint, even after a search. Where did you get it?

I watch a few furniture YouTubers that refinish furniture and many, perhaps most of them, use some of the Mohawk finishes. I see that they are based in Hickory, NC. Former furniture manufacturer territory. They have quite an extensive line of products. I am not actually seeing the spray paint, however, I think I've seen it in Ace or TrueValue or one of the smaller box hardware stores.

I will admit that I like Rustoleum, but something that is easier to use has my attention.

AFAIK this brand (I use quite a number of their excellent products) just makes furniture finishes in rattlecans: nitro-cel lacquers, maybe some with acrylic resins or pre-cataylzed maybe even some water-borne, and the color-range you want to use on wood, which can include black and white.
If they have expanded into more colors then it's news to me. My local shop used to stock a huge range of Mohawk sprays (plus Behlin) but have recently scaled back their stock...it was mind-boggling how many variations there were/are.

In the product description, for colors other than white, the minimum order was 72 spray cans! To me, that means local purchase from a store shelf only.

Rustoleum is an oil-based enamel. From the little I read, these are lacquer-based.

I love lacquer but many here say it is too brittle and chips easily, so be careful of that. Be sure to use a thin coat to minimize chipping.
