I am currently restoring my vintage Panasonic Sport Deluxe Serial # C10197 Not sure what that means but I am the original owner.Questions I have are what size cables do I need to replace both shifter and brake cables ?Also I have taken the drive hub apart and cleaned the shaft and the bearings and re lubed them but it still seems to be kind of grinding .are there replacement parts for those ? Thanks I'm new to the forum just looking for some info..

I don't know anything about your bike, other than to say I once owned a Panasonic made Schwinn from 1979. My guess would be your cables are standard and you can order a new set from lots of places, including these from Amazon. My recommendation would be to also purchase a good cable cutter at the same time and it is helpful if you have a Dremel sander, etc., to help finish the housing ends after trimming (look for online videos to help with install).
On the rear hub, were your bearings bright and shiny when you cleaned them? I wonder if you over-tightened the bearing cones on the axle. Try loosening one side and retightening the lock nut.
Looking forward to your progress.
