Classic E-bike?

Not sure quite where this post should go. Move the this else where if needed. The bike is from 1999, and came from none other than the creator of the Ford Mustang, Lee Iococca.

I was just gifted this, and just figured out who made it. Thought this group would enjoy it. I managed to get a small charge on it and found it a lovely ride. While originally it was to be donated to the student bike Co-op, I'm now debating what to do, as it so cool.

Very cool indeed! Thank you for sharing it here.

What does it weigh?

I'm assuming that's a lead-acid battery - what does IT weigh?

In the third pic it looks as though the frame is not straight at the joint - is it/can it be adjusted?

And do you know any other specs - motor type and wattage, battery capacity, control electronics...

Lee Iacocca was behind another ebike that made it to market, but did not prevail. It was simply called Ebike if I remember correctly. I serviced two of them at the shop each year for quite some years. A couple owned them, one for him the other for her. They were red, not yellow and did not fold. One of them had a continuous problem with rear wheel spoke breakage as the hub holes were too large for the diameter of the spoke that was used.

Interesting bike. Have you ridden it? If so, what impressions did you have?

Thanks for posting this.

Particulars on this bike.
1. Has Ni-MH battery. Unsure of Wh
2. Bike folds in 1/2. Folding pedals, removable stem and seat post.
3. Has BMX tires
4. Top speed ( unassisted) 15mph, range 20 miles
5. Cost $1000 in 1999
6. 5 speed freewheel with a grip shifter (on the left handle bar).

I don't know what it weighs, but I was able to lift into my car, so probably around 40 lbs

In a 10O yard test ride, it rode very nicely and maneuverable, with an up right position.

I put it in this forum not the ebike forum for several reasons. 1. It's older than some bikes on thus forum, and way older than anything on the ebike forum. 2. Fits into the "Celebs on Bikes" 3. Thought this group would get more of a kick out of it as it's a bit of bicycle history.
