Colnago Super

Almost finished, waiting on a couple smalls from Robvolz. Mad Honk supplied the brake levers and 67Carlton had some new hoods. Big thanks to those guys in helping me get this done. Ordered a Columbus seattube decal, wasn’t paying attention and the seller is in the Ukraine, so hard telling when that will be here. Now I need some proper shoes to fit the pedals, I usually run SPD’s but I’m going to use the Campy pedals.

Awesome! Understated and elegant...

^^^ Agreed ^^^

Turning out nice- the lack of a chainstay graphic and the seat stay top style point for me that this frame originally had the foil sticker with the perimeter line and Text in the “chrome” field.

they did not hold up well. A bit of chain slap protection though.

I just returned from a coffee run on my Blue Super. There is a pair of customers who are always there this time of day, they are my bike monitors.

Very nice. Love the color.

Thanks all! And repechage you are correct about the foil chainstay decal. Total mess when I got the bike and I removed it.

WRT the foil on the DS CS, I have 329 pictures of the one and only Colnago I have and there isn't one focused on the awful, beat-up foil. This is the best I can do

After acquiring this bike in 2009, I am still undecided with what to do about it. This bike is only new once and it has a number of battle scares. It borders on the need for repaint.

Might be time for some updated pictures!

a good discussion image, this shows the stamped Colnago branding on the chainstay but a wee bit too far forward to read with a big ring. This was later corrected and shifted aft.
Colnago was not the only mfg to make this error, Medici placed their graphic too far forward for a while and even Masi USA in the “dark days”.
‘the foil panel this shows was revised at least once during the course of use.

Well done; bike looks to be in very nice condition! Same color as my similar aged Masi

Restored my Superissimo last year, after a couple decades of it languishing in the garage. Decided since the various scars, including that metallic mylar thing, were all my doings, to leave them as reminders we are all flawed, humans and bicycles alike. And like myself and the bike, we both look our best from a few steps back.
